Meet Roy

A potter crafting stories in clay, blending tradition with her own unique touch.

Roy's journey

Growing up in a Bengali household, art in its many forms was woven naturally into Roy’s early life. Her first encounter with clay came when she was just five years old. During Kali Pujo, her mother and elder sister would gather clay from their backyard and shape it into diyas by hand. These early experiences created a lasting familiarity with clay.

Over the years, Roy explored different artistic paths, always searching for a medium that felt instinctive and true. In 2024, she returned to clay and recognised it as her primary language of expression, a material that allowed her to think, feel, and create with equal measure. What began as a childhood memory has since evolved into a practice shaped by curiosity, patience, and a deep connection to art.
